Ủy ban châu Âu thông qua chương trình hỗ trợ cho #Iran, tập trung vào khu vực tư nhân
The Commission has approved €18 million for projects for sustainable economic and social development in Iran, including €8m for the private sector. The projects are part of a larger package of €50m for Iran, aimed at helping the country cope with major economic and social challenges. High Representative/Vice President Federica Mogherini said: "Co-operation has developed in many sectors since relations between the EU and Iran were revived following the Iran nuclear deal. We are committed to pursuing it and this new package of measures will deepen economic and sectoral relations in areas that directly benefit our citizens."
International Co-operation and Development Commissioner Neven Mimica said: "With this measure, the EU is demonstrating its support for the people of Iran and its peaceful and sustainable development, and encourages all actors in Iran, and especially the private sector, to become more involved."
Private-sector activities will include support for high-potential Iranian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the development of selected value chains and technical assistance to the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization. As part of this €18m support programme, the Commission will also provide technical assistance in the area of environmental challenges worth €8m and support the prevention and reduction of the problems caused by climate change and drug use, with €2m.
